Project Manager

4Point Solutions is a specialized Adobe partner providing Adobe Experience Manager solutions to its enterprise clients. As our Professional Services group continues to grow, we are seeking a client-facing Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex business process and form-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a background in technology-based project management and a passion for understanding both the business and the technical aspects of the projects they lead.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of projects from the point of eliciting requirements through to the design, development, user acceptance and post-production support phases. Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies will be required to accommodate our varying solution landscape. The Project Manager will also be responsible for allocating and managing the project budget to achieve the defined scope and timelines. Constant focus on change control will be required.

While the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the work of a senior professional service's technical consultants, our projects’ successes also rely heavily on the collaboration of many client groups and other groups within 4Point. As such, a qualified project management candidate will be able to enlist cross-functional collaboration and align multiple parties towards a common goal. The candidate’s strong leadership abilities will ensure they create accountability within the cross-functional project team and maintain focus on participants’ respective contributions and timelines to ensure project success. To do so, key attributes the project manager will need to exhibit are excellent analytical abilities, creative problem-solving skills, strong planning capabilities, refined mediation skills, and a keen focus on identifying and managing project risks in complex situations.

Foremost, much of our client community is made up of senior managers and executives. To this end, the Project Manager must have experience with communicating at senior levels of the organization by knowing how to parse through complex data to identify what information should filter up to enable the project advisory functions of the decision-making project stakeholders.

While 4Point Solutions has a head office located in Ottawa, most of our team has transitioned to virtual environment and we are open to considering candidates anywhere in Canada.

Some travel within and outside of Canada could be required.

Main Duties

  • Works with others to capture and define requirements to ultimately translate requirements into effort estimates and project proposals.
  • Develops and manages project plans/charters; obtains appropriate client approvals and signoffs.
  • Works with other Project Managers, identifies and assembles the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements; manages sub-contractors as required.
  • Develops and manages project schedules and budgets, to deliver the project on-time and on-budget.
  • Creates communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project; including financial health and status of the project; all risks, issues, changes; deliverables; etc.  Such duties include:
    • Undertakes regular status review meetings among project team members and clients
    • Prepares and/or presents project status reports to various internal and external stakeholders’ levels
    • Advises senior management on project management capabilities and risk
    • Controls project requirements, scope, and change management issues by communicating with stakeholders proactively
  • Coaches and advises team members to accomplish project goals, to meet established schedules, and to resolve technical/operational issues.
  • Manages client's expectations; understands client's point of view & needs, while keeping 4Point’s interests in mind; promotes a Win/Win attitude with the client; follows up and follows through on commitments responsibly.
  • Works with Sales to progress project opportunities and align on sales strategies with 4Point clients.
  • Leads requirements gatherings, design sessions, projected deliverable walkthroughs, workshops, meetings, etc.
  • Manages multiple concurrent projects of varying sizes.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and some travel may be required

Desired Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a client-facing technical Project Manager
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects
  • Experience delivering complex technology projects
  • Familiarity with managing both Fixed Price and Time and Materials projects.
  • End-to-end project lifecycle including business case definition, requirements & architecture through development & implementation expertise
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies is must
  • Fully proficient in use of Microsoft Office software suite, MS Project, and other industry tools such as JIRA
  • Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong risk management skills are required
  • Works proactively and independently
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager
  • Familiarity with deploying cloud-based solutions considered an asset
  • Ability to travel internationally

Education Recommendations

  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMP certification considered an asset.
